What this usually costs

For most New Jersey Medicaid members, substance use treatment carries little or no out-of-pocket cost. Your specific plan determines the details, and we'll confirm yours before you start rather than guess at it here.

If cost is the reason you've been putting off calling, call. This is the situation Medicaid is built for.

What's covered

Intensive outpatient (IOP)

Three sessions a week, three hours a session. IOP is typically 12 weeks, with length based on clinical need.

Outpatient (OP)

A lighter schedule, as a step down from IOP or as a starting point.

Individual and family therapy

One-on-one counseling and family sessions to support your recovery.

Psychiatric services are available through our collaborating psychiatric APN

For co-occurring conditions like depression, anxiety, PTSD, and bipolar disorder.

Which Medicaid plan do I have?

Look at your card. New Jersey Medicaid members are enrolled in one of a handful of managed care plans, and the plan name is printed on the front. Call us with the plan name and we'll confirm whether we accept it before you start.

If you can't find your card, call us at (732) 248-1805 and we'll help you sort it out.

What if I'm not enrolled yet?

You can apply at njfamilycare.dhs.state.nj.us, or call us and we'll point you in the right direction.

Don't let an enrollment question stop you from calling. Call first, sort out paperwork second.
