What Virtual IOP Actually Looks Like

Virtual IOP is the same program as our in-person IOP — not a lighter version. Groups meet three times a week for three-hour sessions, in small groups. IOP is typically 12 weeks, with length based on clinical need. Your plan is individualized and can include individual counseling and family involvement alongside group treatment. You attend from any private space with an internet connection, on any device. All sessions run on a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform.

Evening & Morning Online Groups for People With Busy Lives

Our evening IOP track meets Monday through Wednesday, 6:00–9:00 PM. Tuesday and Wednesday evenings are fully virtual — finish your workday, have dinner, and log in from home. Monday evening meets in person at our North Brunswick office. No commute on virtual nights means the three-hour session is actually three hours, not four and a half.

Prefer mornings? Two of our daytime groups also meet virtually — Tuesday and Thursday mornings — a good fit for people who work evenings, parents with kids in school, and anyone who wants their afternoons back.

Who Virtual IOP Is a Good Fit For

New Jersey residents 18+ who need more than weekly counseling but don't need detox or residential care. It's especially suited to people who work full-time, parents without evening childcare, people without reliable transportation, and anyone who lives outside Middlesex County but wants treatment from a licensed NJ program.

If you're not sure whether IOP is the right level of care, a phone conversation — or a formal evaluation — can settle it. If in-person treatment suits you better, our North Brunswick office runs the same program on site.

Is Online IOP as Effective as In-Person?

The honest answer: what makes IOP work is showing up consistently and engaging — and for many people, removing the commute is exactly what makes consistent attendance possible. Virtual IOP is a recognized, insurance-covered level of care in New Jersey. The right format is the one you'll actually attend. If you start virtually and later want in-person groups (or the reverse), we can talk about switching.
