Levels of Care

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

IOP is for adults who need more support than weekly counseling while continuing to live at home. It typically lasts 12 weeks, and length is based on clinical need.

  • • Evening IOP: Monday through Wednesday, 6:00 to 9:00 PM. A hybrid program based at our North Brunswick office, Monday in person and Tuesday and Wednesday virtual.
  • • Morning IOP: Monday through Thursday, 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM, with attendance based on your treatment plan. Monday and Wednesday are in person, Tuesday and Thursday are virtual.
  • • Virtual IOP: For New Jersey residents. A weekly in-person visit to our North Brunswick office for drug screening is required.

We help arrange transportation through a third party for eligible candidates.

Outpatient Program (OP)

OP is a lower level of care than IOP for adults who need ongoing support. It is available in person and virtual. Your clinician recommends the right level after assessment.

Partial Care

Diamond also offers licensed adult substance use Partial Care, generally three hours per day, up to five days per week, in person or virtual when clinically appropriate. Partial Care is not partial hospitalization (PHP), which Diamond does not provide. Coverage and authorization are verified for each client.

Co-Occurring (Dual Diagnosis) Care

Depression, anxiety, and trauma often go hand in hand with substance use. Diamond treats substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions together, in person or virtual.

Psychiatric evaluation and medication management are available to Diamond clients through our collaborating psychiatric nurse practitioner. Diamond Counseling Center does not provide medication assisted treatment or medication services itself; when medication is clinically indicated, we coordinate a referral and share information only with your written consent.

Evidence Based Approaches

  • • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Identifies the thoughts and patterns that lead to substance use and builds practical coping skills.
  • • Motivational Interviewing (MI): A collaborative approach that strengthens your own reasons for change.
  • • Group Therapy: Peer support and shared skill building.
