Who we are
Diamond Counseling Center is an outpatient substance use treatment program located at 2186 New Jersey Route 27, Suite 1C, North Brunswick, NJ 08902. This policy explains what we do with the information you give us through this website, diamondcounselingcenter.net.
This policy covers our website. It is not our Notice of Privacy Practices, which is the separate document that explains your rights regarding your treatment records under HIPAA. If you are a client, ask us for that document.
What we collect
Information you give us. When you fill out a form on this site, we collect what you type into it: your name, phone number, email address, the best time to reach you, your message, and, on the insurance verification form, your insurance carrier and member ID. If you check the text message consent box, we record that choice along with the date and time.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, ours records basic technical information when you visit, such as your browser type, device type, the pages you view, and how you arrived at the site. We use standard website analytics to understand how people find and use the site so we can improve it. This information is not used to identify you personally.
We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 through this website.
Why we collect it
We use what you give us to respond to you, answer your questions, verify your insurance benefits, schedule an assessment, and coordinate your care if you become a client. If you consented to text messages, we use your mobile number to send you the kinds of messages described in our SMS Terms and Conditions.
We do not use the information you submit through this site for advertising, and we do not build marketing profiles from it.
Text messaging
If you check the text message consent box, we will text you at the number you provided. Consent is optional and is never required to receive treatment.
We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number, or the fact that you consented to text messages, with any third party or affiliate for marketing purposes. This information is used only by Diamond Counseling Center to communicate with you.
You can opt out at any time by replying STOP. Our SMS Terms and Conditions explain this in full.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your information.
We share it only in these situations:
- With service providers who help us operate. For example, the company that hosts this website and stores form submissions, and our email provider. These vendors are bound by contract to protect your information and may use it only to provide services to us.
- With your written authorization. If you ask us to share information with a family member, another provider, an attorney, or anyone else, we will do so only after you sign an authorization.
- When the law requires it. In the narrow circumstances where federal or state law compels disclosure.
Because we are a substance use treatment program, information that identifies you as someone who sought or received substance use treatment is protected by 42 CFR Part 2, a federal rule that is stricter than HIPAA. In most cases we cannot confirm to anyone that you contacted us or that you are a client without your written consent.
How we protect your information
Form submissions are transmitted over an encrypted connection and stored in a secured database. Alert emails about new inquiries are sent through a business email service covered by a HIPAA business associate agreement. Access is limited to Diamond staff who need it to do their jobs.
No method of transmitting information over the internet is completely secure. Email and text message in particular are not confidential channels. Please do not send clinical details, medical records, or other sensitive information by email or text. Call us at (732) 248-1805 instead.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete an inquiry you submitted. You can opt out of text messages by replying STOP. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though parts of the site may not work correctly if you block them.

This site may link to other organizations, such as insurance carriers or public resources. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Read their policies before giving them information.

We may update this policy. The date below shows when it last changed, and the version posted here is always current.
