Evening Addiction Treatment for Working Professionals
Recovery without leaving your job. Keep your income, your insurance, and your privacy.
You know you need help. But you also have a job, a mortgage, maybe a family depending on your income. The idea of taking weeks off work for rehab feels impossible.
Here's what most people don't realize: you don't have to choose between your career and your recovery.
Evening IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program) lets you get real, intensive addiction treatment — the same clinical quality as daytime programs — while working your regular hours.
Evening IOP Schedule
Days
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
Time
6:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Duration
Typically 12 weeks
Work 9–5. Attend treatment 6–9. Go home. That's it. No explaining absences. No burning through PTO. No risking your job.
The Working Professional's Dilemma
If you're a working professional struggling with addiction, you face challenges that others don't:
"I can't take time off work"
Missing weeks of work means lost income, missed deadlines, and questions you don't want to answer. Some jobs won't hold your position. Some careers don't survive a gap.
"I need my health insurance"
Your employer-sponsored insurance is what makes treatment affordable. Lose your job, lose your insurance — right when you need it most.
"I can't let anyone know"
Stigma is real. In some industries, a known addiction history can derail a career. You need treatment that doesn't require disclosure.
"My family depends on me"
You're not just responsible for yourself. Mortgage, car payments, kids' activities — life doesn't pause because you need help.
"I'm still functioning"
You show up to work. You meet deadlines. From the outside, everything looks fine. But you know the truth — and you know it's getting worse.
How Evening Treatment Solves These Problems
| Challenge | Evening IOP Solution |
|---|---|
| Can't miss work | Sessions are 6–9 PM, after work hours |
| Need income | Work full-time, no lost wages |
| Need insurance | Keep your job, keep your benefits |
| Privacy concerns | No one at work needs to know |
| Family obligations | Home for dinner, treatment after |
| "Still functioning" | Get help before crisis, not after |
What's Included in Evening IOP
Evening IOP isn't a watered-down version of treatment. It's the same clinical intensity as daytime programs:
- Group Therapy (3x/week) Small groups of 6–10 people. Real discussion, not lectures. Led by licensed therapists.
- Individual Counseling One-on-one sessions with your assigned therapist. Work on personal issues, trauma, triggers.
- Psychiatric Evaluation Assessment for co-occurring conditions. Diamond Counseling Center does not provide medication assisted treatment or medication services itself; when medication is clinically indicated, we coordinate a referral and share information only with your written consent.
- Drug Screening Regular testing for accountability and court compliance if needed.
- Relapse Prevention Planning Identify triggers, develop coping strategies, build a sustainable recovery plan.
- Aftercare Planning What happens after IOP ends. Continuing care to maintain your recovery.
Your Privacy is Protected
Addiction treatment records have stronger federal protection than regular medical records.
- HIPAA — Standard medical privacy protections
- 42 CFR Part 2 — Additional federal protection specific to substance use treatment
What this means: We cannot confirm you are a client to anyone — including your employer, family members, or insurance company representatives calling to verify — without your written consent. Your employer will not be notified.

Court Referred? Ask About Evening IOP.
Diamond accepts court referrals, including DUI, IDRC, probation and drug court referrals. Your level of care, including whether evening IOP is a fit, is determined by a clinical assessment.
- Same clinical standards as daytime court-ordered programs
- Regular progress reports to your probation officer
- Drug screening with court-compliant reporting
- Detailed progress reporting
The advantage: Evening sessions may let you keep your daytime work schedule while you attend treatment. A DUI shouldn't cost you your career on top of everything else.

Is Evening IOP Right for You?
Evening IOP is a good fit if:
- • You work during the day and can't take time off
- • You need your income and health insurance
- • You have family responsibilities
- • You want to keep your treatment private
- • You have moderate addiction (not needing detox)
- • You have stable housing
- • You're stepping down from higher-level care
- • You have court requirements but need to work
Evening IOP may not be right if:
- • You need medical detox first
- • You're in active crisis
- • You don't have safe, stable housing
- • You can't commit to Mon/Tue/Wed evenings
- • You need 24-hour supervision
If you need a higher level of care, we'll help you find the right program and can coordinate your step-down to evening IOP afterward.
