Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions from court-referred clients:
What happens if I miss a session?
We are required to report attendance to your probation officer or the court as specified in your order. If you must miss a session, call us immediately. With advance notice, we can often reschedule or make arrangements. Unexcused absences are reported and may affect your legal standing.
Will my employer find out about my treatment?
No. Your treatment records are protected by HIPAA and the stricter 42 CFR Part 2 federal regulations specific to substance use treatment. We cannot confirm you are a client to anyone without your written consent. Your employer will not be notified unless you choose to tell them.
What does "successful completion" mean?
Successful completion means attending all required sessions, participating actively in treatment, passing drug screens, and meeting the clinical and legal requirements specified in your court order. With your authorization, we provide detailed progress reporting.
What if I relapse during treatment?
Relapse is addressed clinically, not punitively. We increase support, adjust your treatment plan, and work with you to prevent future relapse. However, we are required to report positive drug screens to your probation officer. A single relapse does not mean automatic discharge from treatment.
I have depression/anxiety along with addiction. Do you treat that?
Yes. Our dual diagnosis program treats substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions together. Psychiatric services are available through our collaborating psychiatric APN.
Which courts and probation departments do you work with?
We work directly with probation officers, attorneys, and courts, including regular referrals from Middlesex County Drug Court, and provide detailed progress reporting. Diamond accepts court referrals from any New Jersey court.
How do I prove I completed treatment?
With your authorization, we provide detailed progress reporting to your probation officer and the court.
Can I start before my court date?
Yes. You can start treatment before your court date. With your authorization, we provide detailed progress reporting to your attorney.
